Below is a list of the most popular attractions in Washington D.C., and the requirements for arranging each one.
Tuesday - Saturday morning only
*At least 1 month advance notice required. Visitors are strongly encouaged to submit a request well in advance.
*Requests may be submitted up to 6 months in advance.
*Tours are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis and are offered free of charge. Due to the volume of requests, the White House is often full several months in advance.
The White House Visitor Center is located at the southeast corner of 15th Street and E Street. The location is easy to find by looking for three American flags and the blue awnings. Visitors should allow 20 minutes to one hour to see the videos and exhibits. The Visitor Center is open 7:30am to 4:00pm seven days a week. The closest metro station is McPherson Square.

*The new 580,000-square foot Capitol Visitor Center recently opened to the public. Congressional staff-led tours of the U.S. Capitol require advance reservations through our office. A limited number of same-day tickets are available at the CVC information desk. Please contact my Washington office at (202) 225-2536 to arrange a tour for up to 15 people during the week. Large group tours (15+ people) or Saturday tours can be arranged through the CVC’s website: www.visitthecapitol.gov.

House and Senate Galleries are open to the public when either body is in session, and every Monday- Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Passes are available in our office located in Cannon 115.

The Library of Congress offers hour-long, fully accessible docent-led tours of the historic Thomas Jefferson Building. During your tour you will learn about the Building’s symbolic art and architecture and view the grandeur of the Main Reading Room. Professionally trained docents tell the story of the Library (America’s oldest cultural institution) by talking about its history, its collections (including the Gutenberg Bible), and the services provided to Congress and the nation.
*Public Tours for individuals and families are available Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. (no 3:30 p.m. tour on Saturdays) No reservations or tickets are required.

1st St. & Maryland Ave. NE. Open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lectures on the first floor of the courtroom take place every hour on the half hour from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., when the Court is not in session The Supreme Court offers a variety of educational programs. Exhibits, which are changed periodically, and a theater, where a film on the Supreme Court is shown, are located on the ground floor. *Visitors are encouraged to call the Supreme Court at 202-479-3211 before they visit to make sure the Court is conducting tours that day.

Free tickets are required for all tours on a first-come, first-served basis. The ticket booth is located on Raoul Wallenberg Place (formerly 15th Street). They offer same day tickets only. The Ticket Booth opens at 8:00 a.m. - Monday through Friday, and closes when all tickets have been distributed. Lines form early (some days as early as 6:30 a.m.) and tickets go quickly, most days tickets are gone by 8:30 a.m. Please plan accordingly
