Accelerator and Operations Technology

The Accelerator and Operations Technology (AOT) Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory conducts fundamental and applied research and development needed to improve operations and operations support for the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE). AOT's R&D efforts include

  • plasma physics, ion beam generation;
  • accelerator physics, engineering, design;
  • high-space-charge proton-accumulator/compressor-ring physics;
  • particle-beam-diagnostics physics, engineering;
  • high-, low-power radio-frequency system engineering;
  • mechanical engineering, design;
  • high-vacuum engineering, technology.
