American Legion The American Legion is a large non-profit veteran service organization that, with their 55 State organizations and 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide, have committed to support the needs of military personnel who are severely injured as they prepare to return to local communities. email
American Red Cross Local chapters provide counseling, comfort items and other disaster support. Also provides emergency communications services.
AMVETS Provides general assistance and advocacy, scholarships, career assistance, and phone cards through the National Program Department.
Armed Forces Foundation From referrals by family and friends, they provide emergency financial assistance, vehicle modifications, laptops, housing assistance, tickets to recreation events, phone cards, and transportation assistance.
Armed Services YMCA Tuition assistance, counseling, recreation programs for youth and adults, child care, parent education, hospital assistance, health and wellness services, and respite care.
Army Emergency Relief Scholarships, emergency transportation and vehicle repair, and help with emergency financial needs for food, rent or utilities, medical, dental and funeral expenses.

Granting Freedom Provides home modification grants to severely injured service members who own or rent homes in Virginia.
Helmets to Hardhats Their Wounded Warrior program is a supplement to the National Helmets to Hardhats program. Its purpose is to assist disabled Veterans in their search for new careers outside the military. Through the Wounded Warrior program, disabled veterans have access to a construction career database that includes career opportunities such as project supervisors, job estimators, etc. The Wounded Warrior page offers veterans the ability to create an online resume and participate in an online community to learn more about the many opportunities that are available. The program is self selecting; allowing the veteran to apply to the many available apprenticeships and Wounded Warrior positions. Since its inception in 2003, the Helmets to Hardhats program has a reputation for creating a link to the best careers in the construction industry. With the addition of the Wounded Warrior site, it is also creating a link to the best careers that support the construction industry.
Homes for Our Troops Builds new or remodels existing homes for veterans who meet the VA guidelines for the Special Adapted Housing Grant.

Navy Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) The Society is committed to helping Navy and Marine Corps families find the resources they need to deal with the changes in their lives as a result of service during war time. They have both nursing support and financial services available as part of their Combat Casualty Assistance (CCA) and Combat Related Assistance (CRA). These services are beyond routine Society assistance and can be requested on behalf of a wounded Sailor or Marine. CCA/CRA financial services include help with family travel and living expenses while convalescing, home and vehicle adaptations, and educational assistance.
NMCRS's Visiting Nurse Combat Casualty Assistance Program Program is available to provide medical and emotional support, as well as resource information on medical and resource information that may concern wounded Sailors and Marines and their entire family. A team of visiting nurses provide long term follow-up at major Navy and Marine Corp communities throughout the world.

In partnership with the Homeowners Preservation Foundation, they have also saved hundreds of military homes from foreclosure. In partnership with Veterans Airlift Command, USA Cares coordinates transportation for injured Service members.

Yellow Ribbon America The National Guard Association of California: Organizes community outreach efforts to support their local deployed military members and families. Coordinates with local businesses, residents, churches and community groups to focus resources. Their "Home Improvements for Our Troops" project is organizing communities to fundraise to help make the necessary home-improvements for injured veterans. Also helps communities organize "Welcome Home Celebrations."
