Trademark Education Event Returning to USPTO

Agency’s annual Trademark Expo educates public on intellectual property

Washington - The U.S. Department of Commerce’s United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is once again hosting its annual National Trademark Expo, October 19-20 at its headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. The free event is open to the public and advances the agency’s mission in educating the public about the value of intellectual property in the global marketplace.

The 2012 Trademark Expo will highlight the importance of trademarks through educational seminars, children’s workshops, exhibits, displays of authentic and counterfeit goods, and costumed characters featuring registered trademarks. Attendees will be able to visit numerous exhibitors from the U.S. government, non-profits, and corporations, each providing valuable information about trademarks. New exhibitors, including the American National Red Cross, NASCAR, and Rutgers University, will join returning exhibitors such as the Girl Scouts of America, Mattel, and the U.S. Department of the Army.
