Accessible
through the Strategic Tracking and Reporting Tool (START), the Neighborhood
Networks Web Site Creation Tool helps center directors create customized
one-stop-shop Web sites that:
|
Increase resident and community
awareness of center programs and services.
|
|
Connect residents to local resources, such
as employment agencies, hospitals, colleges and universities,
and banks.
|
|
Help market the center to current and potential
partners and stakeholders.
|
|
Keep constituents apprised of center activities
or events.
|
|
Highlight center and resident successes. |
In
addition, centers can use the Web Site Creation Tool to meet Standard
8 in the Model center classification process, which requires a center
to maintain a Web site in order to achieve advanced center classification.
Available Resources
To
help center directors effectively use the Neighborhood Networks
Web Site Creation Tool, HUD created easy-to-follow, step-by-step
instructions. To view and download these instructions, click on
the "Web Site Creation Tool Instructions" link on the right.
HUD also created the Neighborhood Networks Asset Mapping Guide that
provides instructions for locating community resources. The guide
is a useful resource that center staff can use to identify local
resources for the “Useful Links” section on their Web sites. The
"Asset Mapping Guide" can also be accessed by clicking on the link
on the right.
