-Mission- The
mission of the National Fire Information Council is to encourage and perpetuate
the use of a standardized national incident reporting system as a means
of addressing the nation's fire problem and related emergency services
issues.
-Vision Statement-
The National Fire Information Council will
play a major role in reducing injuries, fatalities, and economic losses
from fire and related emergencies by facilitating the collection, compilation,
analysis, and use of data to produce and disseminate the information needed
by decision-makers.

There are limited openings in the National Fire Incident Reporting
Systems (NFIRS) Program Management resident courses scheduled at the National Fire Academy. Priority for attendance is granted to State and Metro NFIRS Program Managers. Student Selection Criteria: New and current State, metropolitan, and fire department NFIRS program managers responsible for NFIRS data collection and/or for the training of field-level data collection and reporting staffs.
