realizaron estudios superiores en instituciones académicas de los Estados
Unidos. Aunque cursar una maestría o doctorado puede resultar sumamente
costoso, los estudiantes tienen una amplia gama de recursos disponibles
para conseguir financiamiento, ya sea el de las mismas universidades,
fundaciones o del gobierno de Estados Unidos. Aprovecha esta ocasión para

Although a Master's or Ph.D. can be very expensive, students at this level
have a wide range of resources available to fund their education including
universities, private foundations, the U.S. government and many others.

Coordinadora Regional, Nichole Johnson asesora a los Centros de Asesoría
Educativa de México, Centromérica y el Caribe. Al ser el contacto primario
de los Asesores Educativos de Education USA y de la Sección de Asuntos
Públicos del Departamento de Estado, ella sirve como enlace con la
Universidades y colegios del Estados Unidos y con las organizaciones de
intercambio educativo. Johnson trabaja estrechamente con la sección de
Asuntos Públicos, el Departamento de Comercio, la Comisión Fulbright y la
Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional bajo un
mismo proyecto denominado EducationUSA que apoya a entidades
gubernamentales y privadas que promueven programas de intercambio
educativo. En 2005, Johnson editó conjuntamente con el Instituto de
Educación Internacional “Cómo financiar estudios en Estados Unidos:
oportunidades para realizar estudios de licenciatura y posgrado para
latinos” (Funding U.S. Studies: Graduate and Post-Graduate Opportunities
for Latin America).
Based at the Institute of International
Education in Mexico City, Nichole Johnson is the Regional Educational
Advising Coordinator for the Department of State, supporting the
EducationUSA Advising Centers for Mexico, Central America and the
Caribbean. As the primary resource for EducationUSA advisers and U.S.
Embassy public affairs offices on educational issues and advising, she
serves as a liaison for these offices with U.S. colleges and universities
as well as with educational exchange organizations. Johnson works closely
with public affairs offices, the Department of Commerce, the Fulbright
Commission and the U.S. Agency for International Development in organizing
the EducationUSA-Mexico umbrella group of government and private entities
supporting U.S.-Mexico educational exchange programs. In 2005, Johnson
edited the Institute of International Education's publication Funding U.S.
Studies: Graduate and Post-Graduate Opportunities for Latin
Americans. |
