San
Antonio, TX – Anthony Donell Roberts, 29, was arrested late last Friday
evening by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in San Antonio without
incident. An arrest warrant was sought by the San Antonio Police Department
(SAPD) Homicide Division, where it is alleged that Roberts committed first
degree murder.
Last Friday, the SAPD Homicide Division contacted the Lone Star Fugitive
Task Force to assist in the search for Roberts. Task force officers
determined that Roberts was living at a house located in the 5700 block of
Castle Brook Drive. Task force officers initiated surveillance and
subsequently observed Roberts exiting the residence. Roberts was immediately
arrested and taken into custody.
Roberts is currently being held in Bexar County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
On Thursday evening, it is alleged that Roberts and Shuwayne Green engaged
in a violent confrontation. Roberts retrieved a .40 caliber pistol and shot
Green in the abdomen. Green died a short while later at the hospital.
Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas,
states, “It’s tragic when a life is taken due to selfless behavior and we
can only hope that times will improve as the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force
continues to take violent offenders off the streets and put them behind
bars.”
