U.S. Marshals, State, and County Conduct Sex Offender Compliance Check in Columbia County

Columbia County, WI – The U.S. Marshals along with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registry Program and Columbia County Sheriff’s Department conducted a residence verification operation for registered sex offenders. On April 9th to April 12th deputies checked the addresses of 70 registered sex offenders in Columbia County. At least 2 had been found to be non-compliant. The Sex Offender Registry Program Specialist will investigate and make recommendations to the district attorney.

This initiative is part of the working relationship between the U.S. Marshals Sex Offender Investigations Branch and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registration Program which monitors all 21,645 Wisconsin Sex Offenders.
