When her college-aged son began to consider the Air Force Reserve, Staff Sgt. Tammi Johnson chose to return to service. Johnson spent nine years in the Air Force, and then worked as a civilian for 12 years. After learning she was eligible, Johnson made her decision. The Air Force Reserve offers many of the same benefits as the active-duty Air Force, which means that Johnson can work toward her retirement and take advantage of educational benefits.
