Contract awarded for SNS chillers
OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Aug. 15, 2003 — A $964,299 contract has been awarded to provide two 1,200-ton chillers and one 500-ton chiller with options available for two additional 1,200-ton chillers for the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The chillers will be used to provide comfort cooling for laboratory areas, office areas, and equipment rooms for the entire SNS Site.

OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Aug. 13, 2003 — John Michael Ramsey, a University of Tennessee-Battelle corporate fellow with the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has earned the 2003 American Chemical Society Division of Analytical Chemistry Award in Chemical Instrumentation.

OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Aug. 12, 2003 — Paul F. Becher, a corporate fellow and research group leader at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has been named to the National Materials Advisory Board of the National Research Council of the National Academies.

ORNL negotiating with companies on cryogenic systems
