Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force officers in Mumbai
PTI | 09:06 PM,Jun 23,2011Mumbai, Jun 23 (PTI) A delegation of four officers from Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF), headed by Rear Admiral Tokuhiro Ikeda, Director General, Operations and Plans Department, has arrived here on a two-day visit. The delegation members met Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, Chief of Staff, Western Naval Command. They also visited INS Delhi, guided-missile destroyer of the Indian Navy and had an interaction with officers of the command. The two countries have always maintained extremely cordial relations, a Defence release said. "India has been a major beneficiary of the Japanese Official Development Assistance. Membership of the G-8 Security Council was another issue that brought the two countries on a single plank and strengthened their friendship," it said.
