Sandia's international partnerships provide innovative, science-based solutions to global security problems in an array of critical areas — from protecting and managing water resources to safeguarding energy infrastructure to promoting nuclear nonproliferation. We also operate programs in biosecurity, chemical security, and energy efficiency and delivery. Where possible, we engage in broader international programs and inject the international perspective into existing Sandia programs.
Why our international programs matter
Sandia's international programs acknowledge that global security is a critical component of security at home. Our partnerships help focus international attention, expertise, and creativity on issues that, if unchecked, could undermine domestic efforts to protect our nation. And by keeping the concerns and viewpoints of the international community in our sights as we conduct our existing programs, Sandia can broaden the scope of our activities to address and minimize issues of global importance.
