August 14, 2011 Huntsville, AL (WAFF) - A young man was injured Sunday after jumping off a cliff at a rock quarry. Emergency crews responded to an area off Highway 53 between Sparkman Drive and Grizzard Road. Witnesses said it's a popular place to swim and 28-year-old Patrick Riley was injured when he jumped about forty feet into the water below and hit his head. Friends pulled him out before emergency crews arrived. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital where he was treated and released. Source: 48 News WAFF |
