JOHNSTOWN, PA -- Congressman Mark S. Critz (PA-12) announced today that the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport has received a $269,346 federal grant to install a new taxiway lighting system and guidance signs.  The grant is being provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The current taxiway B lighting system has reached the end of its useful life, and the project will install a new lighting system to enhance safe airfield operations during low visibility conditions.  The project will also install seven runway holding position signs on the airfield to enhance safety of aircraft movement.

“The John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport provides a wide-range of benefits to area residents and businesses, and is an economic driver in our community,” said Congressman Critz.  “The airports current runway lighting system has outlived its useful life, and I’m pleased that through the use of this grant a new runway lighting system and guidance signs will be installed to enhance safe airfield operations.”
