Memorial Service for Airmen killed in C-130 crash set for Tuesday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The 145th Airlift Wing, North Carolina Air National Guard, based here, will hold a private memorial service Tuesday, July 10, at 9 a.m. for the four Airmen killed in the crash of a Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) equipped C-130. The men died Sunday, July 1, when their plane went down while fighting a forest fire near Edgemont, S.D.

The service will be held on the base. It is open only to the families of the fallen Airmen, unit members and invited guests. Media coverage will be by pool.
