    Business Development Research

    • Conduct background research on businesses, stakeholders, corporations, and other organizations on behalf of National Director

    • Work on multiple assignments simultaneously, meeting quality standards and deadlines

    • Assist with clerical task such as filing, faxing, answering phones, greeting and escorting visitors

    • Assist with facilitating information between minority business enterprises and the Office of the National Director

    The MBDA Office of Research and Knowledge Management (ORKM) is responsible for the performance of ongoing research relevant to minority business enterprises and the identification, management, and dissemination of MBDA’s institutional knowledge.

    The MBDA Office of Business Development – Program Management is responsible for the design/development of grant programs, systems integration, training, management and assessment of the Agency’s business enterprise grant programs.  This unit within the Office of Business Development is responsible for the management of MBDA’s annual performance and nearly one-third of the overall budget.

    The MBDA Access to Markets Program is responsible for enabling greater access to procurement opportunities for MBDA minority-owned business clients.  This unit within the Office of Business Development identifies and disseminates procurement opportunities, develops and implements business-to-business forums and other business matching events, and coordinates business development activities with MBDA’s five regional offices.

    LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS, STRATEGIC ALLIANCES, PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND SPECIAL  PROJECTS

    Legislative Affairs

    • Prepare congressional briefing packages for targeted Members of Congress, as assigned

    • Research current legislation impacting small, minority and women-owned business and prepare legislative summaries as appropriate.

    • Assist with the planning and implementation of a congressional briefing on MBDA activities and accomplishments.  This will include preparing and/or coordinating leave behind materials/briefing kits and other administrative logistics.

    • Assist in visits to Capital Hill
