Description of Project
DDOT, on behalf of the National Museum for Women in the Arts (NMWA) proposes creation of an allée of contemporary sculptures within the median of New York Avenue, NW between 9th and 13th Streets, NW. The proposed sculptures in Phase I would consist of works by the artist Niki de St. Phalle. NMWA plans to work with the Niki Charitable Art Foundation to select an appropriate grouping of sculptures. Installations will change periodically and will include works by other artists.

Historic Preservation (section 106) Consultation Process
NCPC is conducting review of the project under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act pursuant to 36 CFR Section 800.8 which allows coordination of the Section 106 and NEPA processes.
