Representative Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-25) released the following statement regarding the resignation of Al Armendariz, the top environmental official for the Obama Administration in the South and Southwest region. “The comments made by Mr. Armendariz showcase the inappropriate, hostile approach the EPA is taking toward businesses in our country. “Under the current Administration, the EPA has been steadfast in their intent to impose new regulations and new costs on businesses. Mr. Armendariz’s statements show that the EPA’s priorities lie in getting businesses to fall in line by using any means necessary, including scare tactics and strong-arming, in order to do so.

Representative Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-25) had the opportunity to question Secretary Chu, as a member of the committee. Buerkle’s line of questioning centered on the need to develop a comprehensive energy policy that reduces the United States’ dependence on foreign oil and gives Americans relief from rising energy and gas prices. “Secretary Chu’s appearance before the committee confirmed how out of touch this Administration is with the American people,” said Rep.
