Employee Viewpoint Survey

A Message from the COO

We have received the results of this year's Employee Viewpoint Survey.

The results show that in many respects we think the Export-Import Bank of the United States is a great place to work. Employees like their work, they like the people they work with, and they are customer and results oriented.

But they have concerns about workload, resources, the work environment, and pay. These are issues we take seriously and need to address. As many of you know, the focus of our off-site retreat earlier this month was on employee morale and reducing burdens. We have put together an internal staff group throughout the Bank to solicit ideas and develop initiatives to improve the work environment at Ex-Im Bank. Many of these initiatives are low-cost and can be instituted relatively easily. We will be announcing concrete initiatives within 30 days. In the meantime, we appreciate your engagement and ongoing hard work on behalf of our institution.

2011 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey

Federal agencies are required to regularly conduct surveys of their workforce to determine employee attitudes toward their work and satisfaction with their jobs and compensation package. This information helps agencies learn about factors affecting recruitment and retention in the federal service. In addition, the survey findings provide data to senior managers to meet their agency mission and address human capital management challenges.

The 2011 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey was administered electronically for six weeks, April 4 to May 15, 2011, by email invitation from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Individual survey responses were password protected and confidential. The employee sample consisted of permanent, federal Ex-Im employees. Of the 345 employees surveyed, 163 responded providing the Bank with a response rate of 47.2 percent.

The Ex-Im Bank's survey results and an analysis of the findings are provided in the links below.
