Physical Inspection Scores for HUD-Assisted Housing HUD's Real Estate Assessment Center completes physical inspections of HUD-subsidized and insured properties which consists of housing owned by public housing authorities and by private housing providers. About 20,000 such inspections are conducted annually to ensure that assisted families have housing that is decent, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. The release of this information on the physical condition of HUD-assisted housing stock and changes in it over time will be of particular interest to researchers, affordable housing advocates, and other stakeholders.
