Promote Your Challenge
Challenge Implementation—Step 2 of 4
At this point, you'll want to refer to your strategic and promotion plans, and start letting your audience know about the challenge. You might find the following helpful during this process:
- DOT Connected Vehicle Technology Challenge: Communications Lessons Learned (PDF, 4.76 MB, 23 pages, September 2011)
You might also try personal outreach to:
- Challenge.gov's social media channels:
- Reporters who cover your challenge's subject area
- Reporters from publications that cover government agencies (Federal Computer Week, etc)
-
Special audiences, such as:
- Students
- Community groups
- Coders and developers (for Apps Challenges)
Agencies find that many challenge submissions come in close to the deadline. So it may be hard to measure your level of participation. Don’t be afraid to repeat items in your promotion plan, or try new things.
Next Step
After you've started promoting your challenge, you'll want to build your community of entrants.
