  • Oldest botanical club: Torrey Botanical Society, 1867.
  • Oldest native plant society: New England Wild Flower Society, 1900.
  • Youngest Organization: Finger Lakes Native Plant Society of Ithaca, NY, 2002.
  • Largest societies: Twelve societies have 1,000 or more members. The four largest are Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center with 13,000 members; followed by the California Native Plant Society with 9,500 members, and New England Wild Flower Society with 6,000 members; and Florida Native Plant Society with 3,000 members. 29 societies have 300-1,000 members; all but 4 of the remaining 30 have 100-300 members.
