TOKYO, JAPAN — September 28, 2012 — The Japan District Superintendent’s Office is pleased to announce the selection of two new Assistant Principals. 

Mr. Henry LeFabre

Mr. Henry LeFebre has been selected as the new Assistant Principal of E.J. King High School in Sasebo, Japan. Mr. Henry “Hank” LeFebre has been a coach/educator for the past seventeen years, having taught and coached in Florida prior to joining DoDEA. During his tenure with DoDEA, he has been an active participant in CSI, chairing a number of committees and as a teacher at both the elementary and middle levels in Korea and in the UK. He has previously taught A.P. American History, Gifted Education, P.E., Read 180, Social Studies and AVID as well as coached Football, and Softball.

His most recent assignment was as an AVID and Social Studies teacher at Humphreys American School in South Korea. Mr. LeFebre believes in teamwork, egalitarianism, building ownership with all stakeholders, and providing a safe learning environment which enables all students to experience academic and extracurricular success. Mr. LeFebre and his wife Jami are excited to return to Japan and are looking forward to raising their daughter in beautiful Sasebo and all the new adventures it will bring.

Mr. Louis D’Angelo

Mr. Louis D’Angelo has been selected as the new Assistant Principal of Edgren High School in Misawa, Japan. He is very excited and anticipating a dynamic year full of growth and new relationships. Before joining the Edgren staff he served as an assistant principal in Virginia with Norfolk Public Schools for seven years. He taught English at Hickory High School in Chesapeake, VA for eight years prior to his administrative appointment.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in English from Old Dominion University. In addition, he earned an Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S) and doctorate from The George Washington University. His area of study for his dissertation is focused on individual decision-making in collaborative settings within the educational environment.

Mr. D’Angelo also served in the Virginia Air National Guard for 23 years in various roles. His last position was as a unit training manager with the 203rd REDHORSE unit in Virginia Beach. As a guardsman he deployed numerous times during his career, including two deployments throughout Southwest Asia in 2003 and 2006. He is looking forward to rolling up his sleeves and doing the important work of educating the children of service members while working closely with parents and fellow educators.
