Material Transfer Agreements

Often, materials produced by researchers at Argonne National Laboratory are of interest to the private sector. Depending on the circumstances under which the mareial was developed such material may be transferred to industry for a number of reasons (e.g., testing, feasibility studies, etc.). This transfer is usually temporary and can initiate a more formal working arrangement. At this time, TDC, in conjunction with Argonne's Legal Department, provides such agreements on an as-needed basis. If you would like to acquire material produced by Argonne researchers during the course of a federally funded research project, please contact TDC or fill out a Material Transfer Agreement request form. Printed or electronically downloaded copies may become obsolete. Before using such a copy for work direction, employees must verify that it is current by comparing its revision number to that shown in the on-line version. Obsolete forms will be rejected.

Argonne researchers often request material from others to fulfill their research plans. Often the material has a material transfer agreement attached that is provided by the donor. All such agreements must be reviewed by TDC and Legal to ensure that Argonne may accept such material.

For further information and questions regarding Material Transfer Agreements, please contact Cynthia Wlodarski, 630-252-7694.
