This afternoon, the House overwhelmingly passed the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Repeal Act (HR 2965). It passed by a vote of 250-175—an even greater margin than the 234-194 vote when the House passed an amendment to repeal the discriminatory policy last May.

Today we have an opportunity to vote, once again, to close the door on a fundamental unfairness in our nation. Repealing the discriminatory ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy will honor the service and sacrifice of all who dedicated their lives to protecting the American people.
