366th Component Maintenance Squadron propulsion flight
10/11/2012 - MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Nine Airmen form the 366th Component Maintenance Squadron returned Sept. 20, from a deployment to Royal Air Force Station Lakenheath in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The Airmen deployed as members of RAF Lakenheath's centralized repair facility team, providing engine support for the 391st Fighter Squadron's deployment to Southwest Asia. While at Lakenheath, they integrated with the 48th CMS Propulsion Flight to repair F100-229 engines, serving as the central hub for all intermediate level F100 engine for Central Command.
Family and Flight members were on hand to welcome the Airmen home.
"This was my husband Colin's first deployment," said Jillian Kempsell. "I'm proud of him and what he's done, but I'm glad to have him home."
The members of the CRF team gained invaluable knowledge on their deployment, and are looking forward to transition back to home-station where many will enjoy new duty positions and increased responsibilities.
The CRF team produced outstanding results for the deployment; never was an aircraft unable to fly due to engine availability. They are proud of their accomplishments, but perhaps Staff Sgt. Dustin Clutter, deployment team leader, put it best, "It's good to be home."
