    Fort Huachuca, AZ. - As part of the Army's September's National Suicide Prevention month, Fort Huachuca's Army Substance Abuse Program held a installation wide event, Stand Down Day for Suicide Prevention on Sept. 27. The discussions were mandatory and were held at three different locations and times throughout the day, giving the more than 6,000 attendees a chance to participate. The lectures were held at Cochise Theater, Murr Community Center and Eifler Fitness Center.

    Fort Huachuca, AZ. - It was a clear morning on Fort Huachuca as Harold DeClay, the great, great, great, great grandson of Sgt. William Alchesay stood before the dedication plaque in front of Alchesay Hall on Sept. 14. He was joined by his brother Harrisen DeClay, his grandmother Nettie DeClay and his grandfather Hansen DeClay, Sr. One of the most famous of Apache Scouts and Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Willam Alchesay was posthumously inducted in to the Military Intelligence Hall of Fame the same day. The large, historic barracks building was named in his honor, and the family got to see it during their visit here.

Quiroz has been a military spouse for three years, and she has resided solely at Fort Huachuca during that time.

    Fort Huachuca, AZ. - Typically, Fort Huachuca enjoys more than 300 days a year of favorable unmanned aircraft systems flying weather due to the sunshine in its arid desert location. On top of that, there is available airspace and infrastructure at the airfield at the Black Tower training facility available to support UAS operations. Due to this, Soldiers entering into the military occupational specialty 15W, unmanned aircraft systems operators, learn their craft on the installation. This includes both on-the-ground and flight training.

    Fort Huachuca, AZ. - Heading into the fourth quarter, the Army Substance Abuse Program, or ASAP, staff has been reviewing the high risk behavior data for the current year. Currently there has been a steady decline over each quarter with detection of alcohol offenses amongst Soldiers. For the first through third quarter there have been 24, 19, and 16 offenses reported to the Fort Huachuca ASAP respectively. This decline, over the first nine months of the fiscal year, is due to a collection of factors working together. It is the culmination of the service providers and the community members working to deglamorize alcohol abuse. ASAP officials here want to call on the community, and the agencies that support it, to keep up the good work. A decline in alcohol abuse will impact several other high risk behaviors.

    FORT HUACHCUA, Ariz. - More then 1,000 Soldiers and civilians were briefed on the Threat Awareness Reporting Program and Antiterrorism on Tuesday at Cochise Theater on Fort Huachuca by Chief Warrant Officer, Jon Nance, 902nd CI and Jesse Markum, Antiterrorism Officer, Directorate of plans, training mobilization and security, Fort Huachuca. Four classes were offered throughout the day. Insider threats, espionage, sabotage, terrorism, treason and more were covered during the briefing. "I am providing important need to know information on how to report," Markum said. "We are having this to increase awareness of the insider threat problem," Nance added.
