622nd MCT help resupply troops in the field
Oct 10, 2012
Deployed to one of the most dangerous areas in Afghanistan, a movement control detachment resupplies hundreds of troops in the field. Every morning, Soldiers with 622nd Movement Control Detachment round up Afghan drivers so cargo can be delivered. The cargo each driver has ranges from food for the dining facility to mission critical equipment.

Since arriving at Kandahar Air Field, our Soldiers have been very busy as we are now the senior logisticians in county and are responsible for all logistics operations within the Afghanistan theater. As the commanding element of Joint Sustainment Command -Afghanistan, the 3d ESC is overseeing more than 40,000 logistics Soldiers, civilians and contractors, providing support to United States forces, Coalition partners and Afghan forces in theater.

The coalition forces mission in Afghanistan is often an uphill battle. Kinetic Warfare is only one of the many challenges that hinder the goal of leaving Afghans with a secure and stable environment. Drought, earthquakes and floods, nature's obstacles, have an added impact on the local population's already austere way of life. The KAF Humanitarian Assistance yard is one way coalition forces are able to fight the effects of natural disasters. The yard supplies emergency goods for crisis situations.
