  • Major Joe Frescura, 20th Special Forces Group, Chicago Bears Military Salute at Soldier Field

    Major Joseph Frescura, United States Army Special Forces Command (USASFC), was recognized during the Chicago Bears 3rd Quarter Military Salute on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, in front of over 62 Thousand spectators. Frescura was joined by his wife Kerry and son's Joe and Alex for the recognition at Soldier Field. Frescura was representing the men of Company A, 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group, Illinois Army National Guard. Company A conducted multiple unconventional warfare missions across multiple sectors of Afghanistan, as well as several rescue missions of United States and Coalition troops who were under heavy enemy contact. The fans at Soldier Field roared as Maj. Frescura ran over to shake hands with them, while the entire stadium chanted, "USA, USA!"

    FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas - Soldiers sit back and enjoy a breakfast taco treat during the Warrior and Family Support Center's 2nd Annual Cowboy Breakfast Jan. 27 at the WFSC. The Cowboy Breakfast, with the support of its sponsors, donated 3,000 breakfast tacos for the event as a way to say thank you for the sacrifices of the Soldiers, their Family members and the caregivers.

    The 24 Soldiers and noncommissioned officers gathered here for the 2010 Department of the Army Soldier and NCO of the Year "Best Warrior" Competition knew day four would be a stress test. Their day started at 5 a.m. as they underwent the rigors of several Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills that forced them to think on their feet under trying, realistic conditions.
