FORT HUACHCUA, Ariz. -- Last Friday, the Military Intelligence Corps held a recognition and ribbon cutting ceremony to honor its founding members and open the new Military Intelligence Soldier Heritage Walkway. The event was part of the United States Army Intelligence Center of Excellence celebration of the 50th anniversary of the MI Branch and 25th anniversary of the MI Corps.

717th MI Battalion duo grabs top grad honors

Two 717th Military Intelligence Battalion Soldiers stationed at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland garnered top academic honors in the Noncommissioned Officers Academy Warrior Leader Course. Sgt. James Kirscht, a signals intelligence analyst/reporter, was the Distinguished Honor Graduate and Spc. Scott Bilich, a technical leader/signals intelligence analyst, was the Honor Graduate for WLC Class 09-12, a 26-day course that concluded in June.

In the summer of 2002, I was in the U.S. Navy and stationed on the South Pacific island of Guam. Guam is a tropical island where the temperature of the crystal-clear water is in the mid to upper 80s year-round. Abundant ocean wildlife, combined with numerous shipwrecks and other leftovers from World War II, create a perfect ocean paradise. As an avid outdoor enthusiast, I spent a lot of my free time enjoying the ocean's beauty, above and beneath the endless emerald-blue waves. Little did I know I would soon face death more closely than I could have ever imagined.

441st Military Intelligence Field Training Exercise sharpens Solider's skills

The 441st Military Intelligence Battalion at Camp Zama, Japan, held its semi-annual Field Training Exercise September 9 through September 17 at the Marine Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji Japan. Eighty Battalion personnel from around the Pacific descended on Camp Fuji to participate in the FTX and sharpen their essential tasks for military intelligence Soldiers and civilians.

Hiroshima, Japan- The 441st Military Intelligence Battalion Unit Ministry Team executed a Leadership Professional Development event September 27-30, 2009. Twenty 441st MI BN were trained in spiritual, Army, and cultural values. Individuals briefed the group on intelligence operations of WWII, President Truman, survivors of the atomic bomb, religious values of Japan, and Japanese history.
