| This is an entry-level position Are you interested in taking an active role to ensure the reliability of the Nation’s power grid? Have you completed classes in power systems and are looking for a place to apply your knowledge? Do you have experience using power system modeling software and want an opportunity to learn about power systems operation and planning throughout the United States? Consider applying what you have learned to the exciting and challenging reliability issues facing the electric bulk-power supply system through a career at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Washington, D.C. The Commission is currently hiring entry-level electrical engineers with a specialization in power systems to work in its new Division of Reliability. Engineers in the Division of Reliability are involved in a variety of activities that include developing reliability standards in collaboration with other organizations, developing and analyzing policies for development of the infrastructure necessary for a reliable interconnected power system, and conducting power system analyses. These aid the Commission in carrying out its regulatory responsibilities. Additionally, engineers communicate Commission policies relating to electric reliability, between staff, state and federal agencies, industry groups and foreign governments. Greater than 20% travel expected Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in power systems Additional Information: Position located in Washington, DC.
