Tanya Maslak is the NCO's Operations Manager.  In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities associated with planning, management, and execution of NCO's operations, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of processes, procedures, tools, and mechanisms to ensure accountability for the effective and efficient use of resources within the NCO. Previously, Tanya has served as the program specialist for the interagency cross-cutting group on climate change and human health, and coordinator for the Human Contributions and Responses and Global Water Cycle Interagency Working Groups. Given her background in stakeholder engagement, she has played important roles in the successful implementation of stakeholder listening sessions that helped to provide input to the strategic planning process.  Tanya holds a B.S. in Environmental and Forestry Biology from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (Syracuse, NY) and an M.P.H. in Environmental Health from the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, MN). She came to Washington, DC to pursue a post-graduate fellowship at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where she worked on a variety of risk communication, stakeholder involvement, and community-based environmental health projects. Prior to joining USGCRP in May 2008, Tanya served as the Director of Environmental Health Promotion and Health Communications at the Society for Public Health Education, where she focused on environmental health literacy and public health preparedness activities.
