Design Counts in Elections - EAC Roundtable Discussion

In preparation for the 2012 federal elections, EAC will host an August 11 roundtable on ballot and polling place design. Goal: to show how implementing best practices in design can give voters confidence that that their votes were cast and counted as they intended. The event will be webcast live. Premise
Election officials share the goal of providing a positive voting experience that will give voters confidence that their votes were cast and counted as they intended. Implementing best practices in ballot and polling place design contributes to a voter’s positive experience and ensures that the process is accessible and convenient to the widest possible audience.

Goal
To take the guess work out of designing ballots and polling place signs. Using simple design principles come with few costs yet yield huge benefits for the American electorate.
