When will the information on these system enhancements be available on the Site Features and Enhancements page?

Thank you for your inquiry. The Grants.gov Program Management Office will post information to the Site Features and Enhancements page shortly after the build is released to production. At a very high level, the scheduled system enhancement will provide improvements in the following areas:

Improved Information Management (CCR) - Applicants

The user interface for the applicant profile is being updated to include email information on file for the applicant with CCR which will allow applicants to verify the information they have on file with CCR without leaving Grants.gov. This feature will help applicants to better manage their information and ensure that they are properly registered with CCR in order to obtain grant funding.

Improved Credential Verification - Applicants

The applicant experience will also be improved with the implementation of a multi-layer credential verification, which will alert the applicant if the credential information they have entered (login ID, password and DUNS) matches what is on record at Grants.gov, prior to submission of an application package. This functionality will also check whether the DUNS number entered within forms (of an application package) matches the login ID and password information the applicant uses to submit the application package. Applicants will know immediately whether they are eligible to submit an application and if they are using the proper combination of credentials (login ID and password must match DUNS number) they use to submit an application package.

Improved Reporting and Information Management - Grantors

Grantors will experience new management and reporting functionality within their Grants.gov profile. Excel exports (downloads) will be available for the following grantor reports: Published Opportunities; Organization Report; Submission Report; Manage Opportunities; Retrieve Submitted Applications; and Rejection Report (new functionality). The Grantor profile interface will also include a “Rejection Report” feature which will allow grantor users to identify the exact cause of an application rejection. Agency Rejection report provides a detailed explanation as to why a submission was rejected, it also gives information on every aspect of the submission and allows you to search and sort all information associated with the submission including: Grants.gov Tracking Number, Date/Time Received, DUNS, Owner, Legal Business Name, AOR Name, Legal Name, Project Name, CFDA Number, Competition ID, Opening Date and Closing Date. This feature will allow for improved communication to applicants and help grantors better manage rejected applications. Grantors may also download an excel version of this report.

Improved Information Viewing - Grantors

Users will be able to view information as desired. Information within the reporting screens will be easily sorted and selected by clicking on a particular column or row header. Easily change the number of listings showing on the screen. Click directly on a single entry to select it, or select multiple entries by holding the control or shift key.

Users may also select multiple entries by clicking directly on the entry to highlight and select it for download or select multiple entries using the control or shift keys. Entries are then downloaded in batches contained within a single zip file.

Why couldn't this outage have been coordinated with the eRA Commons downtime at the end of the same week? July 29 - August 1?

Thank you for your question regarding the coordination of the upcoming Grants.gov system outage planning in conjunction with the NIH eRA Commons system outage. While your question is a good one please understand that Grants.gov supports not only NIH but all of the Federal government’s 26 grant making agencies. As such, we are challenged with coordinating system outage times to accommodate all Grants.gov users. While system down-time is no doubt a challenge for all Grants.gov users we appreciate your patience as we work towards creating new system features and enhance our current system functionality that in the long run will better serve all Grants.gov users.
