Your daughter needs 60 minutes of physical activity every day, including bone-strengthening activities at least three times a week.

You can play a big role in how much physical activity your daughter gets. While you may think your daughter gets enough physical activity at school, many schools are reducing or removing PE classes, and studies show that activity levels drop off dramatically as girls enter their teens. Encourage your daughter (and her friends!) to find a physical activity that's right for her.

One great way to get your daughter moving is to do it with her. In addition to benefiting your bones and hers, this will be a chance for you to talk and have fun together. Check out these activities you can do as a family to help your daughter build strong bones.
