    • I am trying to make arrangements for graduation and needed some information. I'm looking to find out what day we should arrive so we don't miss any activities or functions. Also can our cadets leave with us after graduation on the 18th?

  2. The National Conference of Ethics (NCEA) is just one of the many extra-curricular programs offered by the Academy to help broaden and enrich the lives of our Cadets, and I hope you all will seek out as many of these opportunities as you can in the future. If you ask them, I’m sure that our four NCEA delegates will tell you that they learned a lot, and had a whole lot of fun doing it!

  3. USMAPS BASKETBALL:

The USMAPS Men’s Basketball team opened up the season with a pair of competitions over the weekend. On Friday night, the Black Knights hosted SUNY Delhi, an NJCAA Final Four team last season. The Black Knights got off to a hot start building an early 7 point lead. However SUNY Delhi would answer back and keep the game close throughout the half. USMAPS would eventually take ...
a 33-32 lead into the break.

The Black Knights came out with a 7-0 run to start the second half and never looked back. USMAPS would go on to win the contest 68-49. Tanner Omlid led the way with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Scott Mammel and Kennedy Edwards chipped in 12 and 11 respectively, and Shane Smith tallied 11 points to go along with 6 assists.

The Black Knights came right back at it on Saturday morning and hosted SUNY Dutchess. USMAPS came out firing and put up a 50 spot on the scoreboard in the first half as Shane Smith and Kennedy Edwards combined to score 22 of the team’s points. Smith would finish as the high-man with 17, as Edwards followed with 16 points to lead the Black Knights to an 89-63 victory. Zach Johnson (14) and Tanner Omlid (10)each reached double-figures in the scoring column.

The Black Knights are back at it this weekend as they host perennial Prep School Powerhouse, Notre Dame Prep on both Saturday and Sunday.

    GO ARMY!

  4. Ladies and Gentlemen,

The USMAPS Volleyball Team continued its stellar play to finish the season strong, sweeping Morris CC in 3 games. We finished with a very respectable record of 12-2. Everyone on the team saw some playing time, and I am proud of every single lady on the team for performing so well on Friday, as well as the whole season. It was great to have such an exciting performance in front of all our families and fans. Thank you for coming out and supporting us all season. We couldn’t have had the success or nearly as much fun without you cheering us on. We enjoyed one final ‘Rock the Black & Gold’ Friday night.

    Go Army!

  6. USMAPS FENCING:

We own the night and fight for right. A squad of fencers wearing yellow socks won the Bronze Medal last night at the USFA Open. We were heart-breakers and dream-dashers who sunk our steel teeth into the civilians and NYMA cadets. Final results were Wallace 3, Katz 5, Bogman 8, Schanz 9, Hall 11, Burnette-Turner 12, Picou 14, Miles 15 of 19 fighting. We did well in the pools with ...
Katz winning 5, Wallace winning 4, Bogman and Schanz each winning 3. Van 39, no trouble. The DFAC rare roast beef was excellent. Thanks to SPC Wagner, DFAC, Ms. Maldonado, Mr Krug, Judge Katz. CC Wallace stood at attention as the tournament director presented the medal. We may have a photo later. Gold went to a “B” fighter who had just fought at St Louis, silver went to an “E” fighter. Next up is the USFA double tournament at Peekskill 18 Nov. Everyone has success stories from last night, but here are a few for you. CC Hall was losing 1-4 when he applied the Army Values and defeated the civilian 5-4. Later, I saw Hall duck beneath a blade swinging towards his head, and then Hall removed the opponent’s shin. Miles hit a civilian 6 times within the same 1” area of the arm, turning the civilian’s arm into a mess. Bogman took a sword tip into bone just below the kneecap, then a few minutes later someone steel bull-whipped him above the same knee. When I asked how hurt he was, he replied, “I’ve had worse in basic,” and went off to have a bite of tasty DFAC food. Well done to last night’s squad! “I came not to send peace, but a sword.” St. Matthew

  14. USMAPS VOLLEYBALL:

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

The volleyball team participated in a tournament at Monroe College this weekend in which we finished second and went 3-2. We defeated Nassau CC, The College of Southern Maryland, and Lackawanna College. Both of our losses came to Monroe College, which recruits international players. I was very proud of how the ladies performed and represented USMAPS on a...
nd off the court. The players enjoyed playing a higher level of volleyball against some very solid competition. After our championship game, the referee said we had the best sportsmanship he has ever seen in his refereeing career. Please congratulate the players when you see them. A special thank you to Greta Holtackers for coaching with me the whole weekend. Our next game is 16 October at 1900hrs.
