STATEMENT FROM CHAIRMAN ROBERT A. BRADY ON THE NOMINATION OF WILLIAM J. BOARMAN FOR U.S. PUBLIC PRINTER

April 16, 2010 - Washington, DC:  “I am very pleased that President Obama has chosen to nominate Bill Boarman to the position of Public Printer of the United States.  Mr. Boarman’s many years in the printing-industry and his strong emphasis on and service to printing-industry workers will lend themselves well to this new role.   He brings a wealth of knowledge and talents derived from more than 40 years of experience in the printing industry and has been active in leadership roles within the Communications Workers of America and as president of the union’s Printing, Publishing & Media Workers Sector.

“Bill’s unparalleled integrity, industry knowledge and recognition of the importance of supporting and encouraging a strong workforce, as well as his previous experience at the Government Printing Office will be tremendous assets as he assumes the role of Public Printer.  I encourage the Senate to act expeditiously in confirming his nomination and applaud President Obama for a wonderful selection.”
