The Hilton in St. Petersburg, Florida was the site of the 2002 ARM Science Team Meeting.

Meeting Highlights

The 12TH Annual ARM Science Team Meeting was held in St. Petersburg, Florida, at the Hilton Hotel. There were 286 attendees registered for the meeting; 54 of whom were international participants representing 20 different countries. During the ARM Program overview session, it was reported that ARM was alive and healthy after 12 years. The science was solid, and funding remained consistent. The preliminary proposals that DOE was receiving had been very, very strong. The ARM Program was making substantial progress toward describing the Southern Great Plains atmospheric column.

Fun Fact

Another fun fact reported at the meeting: 80% of ARM data users are non-ARM scientists. The ARM Archive averaged 450 users per month and the average data request in 2001 was 13 GB/day (2200 files/day).
