Welcome to the Rockingham Planning Commission

Rockingham Planning Commission is one of nine regional planning commissions in New Hampshire established by RSA 36:46. The Commission's region consists of twenty-six communities within Rockingham County. Operating as a non-profit local government organization, the Commission serves in an advisory role to local governments in order to promote coordinated planning, orderly growth, efficient land use, transportation access and environmental protection.

News & Notices

MS4 Stormwater Permit Released with 7/1/18 Effective Date. The permit and detail can be found on EPA's NH Small MS4 General Permit webpage.

2016 Annual List of Obligated Projects: The MPO has published the annual listing of projects that the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) have committed to reimbursing a share of the cost of implementation. The full 2016 listing as well as additional information can be found on the Annual List of Obligated Projects page.

Long Range Transportation Plan and State Ten Year Plan Project Solicitation. The RPC is soliciting transportation project ideas from communities and other regional planning partners. Applications for new projects must be returned by March 3rd, 2017 to be considered in this round. AnchorWelcome Raymond! On November 8th, Governor Hassan signed an Executive Order changing Raymond’s regional planning district from the Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission to the Rockingham Planning Commission. Over the next few weeks, the Town is expected to appoint its Commission representatives and begin to engage in RPC meetings and activities, while RPC staff updates regional planning documents, maps and data to include Raymond. Technical assistance requests include developing an agricultural district overlay, assisting with a demographics update, and with a wetlands study RFP. We welcome Raymond to the RPC region and look forward to a long and productive relationship!

NHOEP Release 2016-2017 Zoning Amendment Calendars for traditional and official ballot ("SB2") towns with March and May town meetings. The calendars are available in the NHOEP Resource Library.

Current Projects

The Climate Risk in the Seacoast (C-RiSe): Assessing Vulnerability of Municipal Assets and Resources to Climate Change is a project that will provide Great Bay municipalities with maps and assessments of flood impacts to road and transportation assets, critical facilities and infrastructure, and natural resources associated with projected increases in storm surge, sea level and precipitation. Long Range Transportation Plan Update. The Long Range Transportation Plan serves as the 20+ year transportation planning document for the Rockingham MPO. The Plan contains the region’s goals and specific project proposals through 2040. For more information and project updates visit: Transportation Plan.

Tides to Storms - Now Completed! This project assessed the vulnerability of coastal municipalities and public infrastructure to flooding from expected increases in storm surge and rates of sea-level rise. For more information and project reports and maps visit the Projects page.
