Georgia Writers Hall of Fame to celebrate new home with event

The Georgia Writers Hall of Fame will host its first exhibit in its new home with an opening celebration on Sept. 27 at UGA’s Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries. Attendees are invited to a light breakfast, a short video presentation about the Hall of Fame, librarian-led tours of the new exhibit and a panel discussion with Hall of Fame members. The discussion will begin at 10 a.m. in room 285, followed by the exhibit opening and tour at 11:15 a.m. in the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library Gallery. The informal breakfast will be served prior to the panel discussion.

UGA Soccer to host Missouri and LSU

The UGA soccer team will play Missouri on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. and LSU on Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. Both matches will be played in the Turner Soccer Complex.

Board of Regents to conduct presidential search committee forum
An open forum with University System of Georgia Regent Larry Walker, chair of the presidential search committee, and Bill Funk, from the search firm of R. William Funk & Associates, will be held Sept. 26 from 3-4 p.m. in the Tate Student Center Theater. The Presidential Search Committee is charged with securing a new president for the university after current President Michael Adams steps down on June 30, 2013. The event is open to students, faculty, staff and the general public.
