Washington, D.C. – House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed proposals this evening to save taxpayer dollars and reform how they are spent. The two measures – a pay freeze for Members of Congress and federal employees as well as reforms to prohibit the use of assistance under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program at strip clubs, casinos, and liquor stores – were also included in the long-term payroll tax holiday, unemployment benefit, and Medicare reimbursement package which passed the House in December. Chairman Price is a member of the Conference Committee currently in negotiations on a compromise over how to extend the payroll tax holiday, UI benefits, and a fix to the Medicare payment formula.

In October, the Department of Health and Human Services acknowledged that the CLASS Act was not financially sustainable.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) issued the following statement after the House Budget Committee voted to favorably report the Pro-Growth Budgeting Act (H.R. 3582) out of committee. Congressman Price introduced the Pro-Growth Budgeting Act which requires the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to complete a “dynamic” macroeconomic analysis for legislation with an estimated budgetary impact of .25% of GDP or greater. This analysis would be offered to lawmakers in addition to the traditional “static” CBO score.
