“I am greatly saddened by the death of Trayvon Martin that has shaken the nation and prompted many of my Colleagues in Congress to demand justice.
I have the upmost confidence that under Attorney General Holder's leadership, the U.S. Department of Justice will conduct a thorough investigation and take all necessary action to ensure fairness and integrity in our criminal justice system. Ultimately through these efforts, I hope that we can learn to prevent such tragedies from taking place in the future.
Trayvon Martin and his loved ones are in our prayers as we begin to find healing in our own communities.”
