facebookNEW YORK – Congressman Charles Rangel released the following statement this evening after the New York State Senate passed the historic marriage equality bill. The legislation will soon go to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s desk, where he has said he will sign the bill into law:
“Today we celebrate another major milestone in our nation's advancement of equality, civil rights, and fairness for everyone in America. I am proud of Governor Andrew Cuomo and my colleagues in the State Senate for their leadership and courage in standing up for what is right, and setting an example for the rest of the nation."
