A Physician's Practical Guide to Culturally Competent Care

This free, accredited online cultural competency curriculum equips physicians with awareness, knowledge, and skills to better treat the increasingly diverse U.S. population they serve. This course enables participants to explore and apply concepts of culturally competent care, language access services, and organizational supports through engaging video case studies and practical tools and resources.

The Office of Minority Health invites you to partake in this exciting program by visiting https://www.thinkculturalhealth.hhs.gov/. Over 10,000 health care professionals have participated in this important educational program, earning over 26,000 free continuing education credits.

Commentaries about this program from participants include:

  • "What an absolutely wonderful learning experience. The case studies were 'real life' and had depth, character development and were evocative!"

  • "I really enjoyed this activity and I feel like I have learned a lot about cultural competency. I know that I have already begun to re-evaluate my own beliefs and values, and I believe I can effectively help others without letting my own biases or beliefs about medicine get in the way."

  • "This program was excellent. I learned more than I have ever learned from any other CME program. It will definitely affect the way I interview patients and practice."
