Department of Women's Health

Women's Health

The Department of Women's Health includes the Women’s Health Clinic (OB/GYN), Labor and Delivery Unit, Mother-Baby Unit and Special Care Nursery. The Department of Women's Health product line provides a wide spectrum of health care by OB/GYN specialty physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants and administrative staff.

Women's Health Calendar of Events: Includes dates for classes about: Breastfeeding, Childbirth Preparation, Contraception, Expectant Parent Workshop, and the Mom and Me Breastfeeding Support Group.

Women’s Health Clinic (OB/GYN)

Open Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4: 30 p.m.
Injections (Immunizations, Flu, Depo, etc) available 1 – 3 p.m.
Staple Removal & Wound Checks available 8 – 10 a.m.

New OB patients will be instructed to call same day appointments at 270-431-4677 in 3 to 4 working days. Referral should reference a positive pregnancy test, number of weeks gestation at time of referral, and any known OB risk factors.

Patients are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to appointment. This allows time for check-in and screening prior to the appointment and maximizes time with the provider. All patients must present their ID cards at check-in. Please arrange for child care prior to OB/GYN appointments. Unattended children are not allowed in the hospital.

Press 1: If you are pregnant and need to schedule an OB appointment.
Press 2: If you have delivered a baby recently and need to schedule a postpartum appointment.
Press 3: For all OB/GYN surgical needs, including pre-surgery and post-surgery appointments.
Press 4: If you need a specialty appointment for an abnormal pap smear, colposcopy, or LEEP procedure.
Press 5: For any other gynecology appointments or for active duty profile concerns.
Press 6: If you would like to speak to the Obstetric nurse educator regarding gestational diabetes, scheduling classes, or any other educational needs.
Press 7: If you would like to speak to the Advice Nurse.
Press 8: For information about the Centering Pregnancy program. 

After Hours Pregnancy Related Medical Care
Patients with pregnancy related medical concerns who are less than 20 weeks pregnant should report to the Emergency Center for evaluation. Patients with pregnancy related medical concerns who are more than 20 weeks pregnant should report to the Labor and Delivery Unit.

Room 

Inpatient OB care is provided on Labor and
Delivery. During delivery, families are welcome.
Only siblings of the newborn are allowed on the
Labor and Delivery ward. Children may not be left
unattended in the hospital.  

Mother-Baby Unit
Location: A Building, 2nd Floor

The Mother-Baby Unit provides family-centered maternity and newborn care while meeting the individual needs of mother and baby with minimum disruption and separation. The newborns remain with their mothers. Only siblings of the newborn are allowed in the Mother-Baby Unit. Children may not be left unattended in the hospital. The Mother-Baby Unit has a Special Care Nursery that provides Level 1 care to neonates requiring close observation. 

Stork Parking for Expecting Mothers
Expecting mothers at 36 weeks pregnant or more are authorized to use a special "Stork Pass" which allows them to park in marked "Stork Parking" spots near the hospital. The pass is authorized for appointments only and expires on the expiration date written on the pass. The expiration can be extended if necessary. If eligible for a pass, please visit the OB/GYN clinic for more details.
