About

Mission

We advise the Secretary of Defense on all matters related to small business and are committed to maximizing the contributions of small business in DoD acquisitions. We provide leadership and governance to the Military Departments and Defense Agencies to meet the needs of the nations' Warfighters, creating opportunities for small businesses while ensuring each tax dollar is spent responsibly.

Vision

An enabling environment in which the Department recognizes the value of and engages small businesses as critical suppliers of required Warfighting capabilities.

Organizational Hierarchy

The Office of Small Business Programs is a directorate within the Office of Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (OSD AT&L), which is the Principal Staff Assistant and advisor to the Secretary of Defense for all matters relating to the DoD acquisition system.

Statuatory Authority

Public law 95-507 ยง221.(k) October 4,1978 Amending the Small Business Act and the Small Business Investment Act of 1958.
