Capitol Movement (Dancers)

Founded in 2005, The Capitol Movement Dance Company is a diverse and vibrant repertory group that provides a platform for local and international choreographers to showcase their innovative work and elevate the quality and integrity of cultural jazz and hip hop dance in Washington, DC. The Company performs concerts brimming with artistically excellent, and varied pieces that create a unique appeal to experienced dance enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

The adult company has been praised for having "captivating energy, enthusiasm, range and skill of dancers,” by Michael Clements, Executive Editor of Washington Life Magazine. Pamela Sorensen founder and creator of pamelaspunch.com (acclaimed for getting the "who, what, when, where" of Washington, DC's social and philanthropic scene) also praised the group for giving her a "visceral reaction, which included chills and tears".

The hour-long dance concert being performed during their Capitol Movement tour with Armed Forces Entertainment tour is a tribute to our men and women serving in the armed forces in honor of Veteran's Day. The performance features dance styles such as hip hop, jazz, modern, tap, and contemporary.
