(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman John Sarbanes announced today that he will serve a third term on the House Committee on Natural Resources as well as join the House Committee on Science, Space & Technology.

“I’m honored to serve on these committees,” said Sarbanes. “Through these assignments I will have the opportunity to advocate for issues of great importance to Maryland such as the protection of the Bay, energy development, scientific research, and manufacturing.”

The Committee on Natural Resources has jurisdiction over fisheries & wildlife, national parks, mining activity and coastal zone management. The Committee on Science, Space & Technology has jurisdiction over energy development and scientific, environmental, aeronautical, and marine research as well as the Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
