Infrastructure Assurance

Argonne’s infrastructure assurance research is focused on assuring the security and resilience of U.S. critical infrastructure and key resources that are threatened with disruption as a result of natural hazards, accidents, or deliberate acts such as terrorist attacks. The impacts of such disruptions—including impacts to human health and safety, the economy, and national security—must be understood for effective risk management. Argonne's infrastructure assurance work incorporates physical and cyber security analysis databases and tools, modeling and simulation technologies, and expertise to support the entire preparedness spectrum: to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from all hazards, including conventional, chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear terrorism.
